Greeting all. Did you know that there is property tax relief for residents that meet certain criteria. There is a Senior Stabilization Program that requires the applicant to be an Orange homeowner for 10 years or more with an adjusted gross income of $52,000 or less. There is the “State Circuit Breaker Program” married applicants need to have an adjusted gross income of $42,900 or less and single applicant’s income of $35,200 or less. Applications need to be in by May 15, 2017 for tax year 2017 -2018. For more information or applications you can go to the Tax Assessors Office or contact Kelly in that office at 203-891-4723. WORD FROM THE SENIOR SERVICES COORDINATOR

The Orange Government Access Television channel (OGAT) is looking for a senior who would be interested, and would be capable of, learning to be an OGAT camera operator, to help out or pinch hit from time to time. The person would receive training to do so. You may find this opportunity both interesting and an opportunity to earn some pocket money. Contact Ron Davis the OGAT Coordinator at (203) 891-5764.

AARP TAX
AARP will be offering their tax preparation services again on Wednesdays, from Feb 8 to April 12. You must bring with you, prior year’s tax returns, Social Security card for everyone on the return and a photo ID. Call (203) 891-4784 to schedule an appointment.
