Fall is here in all its glory! As the Holiday Season is upon us Community Services will be busy making food baskets for our families and residents in need. We look for residents, organizations, and businesses to sponsor food baskets and gifts for families and residents in need. We can also use grocery gift cards to distribute, monetary donations are appreciated too. Please let us know if you wish to be a sponsor or give a donation, just give us a call at 203-891-4788.

If you are able please consider donating food items to our Food Bank. Please keep in mind that these programs are sustained solely by donations and the generosity of our community.

On Veterans Day, let us remember our neighbors who have served their country bravely. On Thanksgiving let us pause to give thanks and count our blessings. Have a great November and Happy Thanksgiving! Stop by my office any time, the door is always open!

Joan Cretella, Director, Community Services

With the colder months coming, it is time to cover the
Inclement Weather Policy:

If the Orange Elementary schools are closed due to weather then classes at the Orange Senior Center are can-celed for that day. If the Orange Elementary schools are delayed and your class is within the delay period then class is canceled. If students pay a fee to attend the class then it will be made up at the end of the session. Orange school closings and delays are reported on WTNH-8 and WTNH-8 will be the official vehicle of notification. Please be aware Orange is part of the Amity Regional School System and will be posted as Amity. Any question as to whether a class is on, you are encouraged to call the senior center office (203) 891-4784. I encourage all instructors to tell the weather policy to their class at the start of the first class.
